HealthSouth MountainView Regional Rehabilitation Hospital Announces New Medical Director
HealthSouth MountainView Regional Rehabilitation Hospital has named Shelana Gibbs-McElvy, M.D., as the hospital’s medical director. Gibbs, a dual board-certified physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation and electrodiagnostic medicine, recently served as medical director of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley.
As medical director, Gibbs will work with clinicians and other staff members to create a care plan designed to meet the needs of each patient. Whether a patient has received a spinal cord injury in a car wreck, survived a stroke, suffered from arthritis or undergone a major joint replacement; she will play a role in the patient’s return to the community.

Gibbs completed her undergraduate studies at Kent State University and medical school at Northeastern Ohio University. She completed her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she served as chief resident.
